Day 1: I feel
confident about how I performed at work and enjoyed my coworkers and patients,
I was able to go exercise at gym during my lunch break, my mother-in-law cooked
dinner for our family so I did not have to cook, my husband was off of work and
he picked up my daughter from church and I was able to work on homework.
Day 2: I made
100 on my Public quiz and this encouraged me to know that all the studying I did was rewarding.
I saw an old friend at the store that encouraged me. I was thankful for this
blessed day. I went for a bike ride with my daughter in our neighborhood.
Day 3: I was able
to spend time in prayer and reading my bible before I went to work. I felt
great after I exercised during my lunch break at work. I felt like I had more
energy and was more productive at work. I had a great afternoon with my daughter.
We jumped on the trampoline and giggled together.
Day 4: I
found my daughters glasses outside in our yard that she had lost 1 week ago.
Spent 30 minutes in prayer and meditation that made me feel God’s peace. I also
walked my dog around the block and visited with my neighbors.
Day 5: I
spent time in prayer before my day. I completed my assignment that was due. I
went to lunch with a great encouraging friend. I felt encouraged and joy after
visiting with her. I had a restful nights sleep.
Day 6: I
arrived to a beautiful camp to attend a women’s church retreat. I was encouraged by spending time with God
in nature. I was encouraged by the testimonies of several women who overcame many obstacles. I
laughed and spent time with my women’s life group.
Day 7: I was
still at a women’s church retreat. I was encouraged and my faith has grown stronger by spending more time with God in worship and prayer. I feel encouraged, renewed and refreshed. I was able to get away from routine daily activities and focus my time on my relationship with Jesus.
This assignment was a great reminder to me of how blessed I am daily and that counting each blessing gives me a feeling of contentment and gratitude. Choosing to see the positive things about each day and not focus on the negative about the day reduced my stress levels significantly. Everyone experiences bad days and troubles but choosing to be thankful for the positive will be very beneficial in my opinion.
According to M. Seligman, “The value of the overarching
term positive psychology lies in its uniting of what had been scattered and
disparate lines of theory and research about what makes life most worth living”
(Seligman, 2005).

Cindy, it's amazing everything you can do in a day! and I could see how much you enjoy doing it. Thank you also for sharing about your spiritual times, this encourages me a lot! And the gratitude in your daily walking allows you to see the positive things in it.
ReplyDeleteJavier,
DeleteThank you for your encouraging words! Blessings!
Cindy, this is so awesome and it makes me also want to participate in something like this. I think we as humans often forget all of the good, positive things going on and this is a wonderful way to reflect on the good. Thank you for sharing your experience!
